A nutritious breakfast that’s super quick and super delish!

Ingredients

For the Porridge
  • 1/3 cup of quick oats (or one sachet of porridge oats)
  • 1/2 cup of any milk
  • One teaspoon of honey or maple syrup
  • One teaspoon of chai powder
  • Peanut butter, to serve
  • Fresh berries, to serve
To Make Your Own Chai Powder
  • 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons of ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground allspice
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • 2 heaped tablespoons of coconut sugar

Instructions

  1. For the chai powder, sift the sugar into mixing bowl and then add the spices. Stir thoroughly to combine, so that all spices are evenly distributed. Store in a jar at room temperature.
  2. For the porridge, combine the oats and the milk in a microwave-safe container. Add the honey or maple syrup and the chai powder, then stir.
  3. Microwave for one minute and then stir. Microwave again for a further 30 seconds.
  4. If the porridge is too thick, add some extra milk and stir through. The oats will thicken as they cool, so a slightly runny consistency is ideal.
  5. Zap the peanut butter in the microwave for 15 seconds and stir. Continue in 15 second bursts until you get a runny consistency. This will help the peanut butter combine with the oats but this step isn’t necessary. Some types of peanut butters will melt better than others.
  6. Serve the porridge with the peanut butter and the fruit. Delish!
